Zlín - Model Town of Modernity

Winfried Nerdinger (ed.)
in cooperation with Ladislava Horňáková and Radomíra Sedláková

With essays by renowned architecture historians the catalogue describes the complex development of Zlín and the Baťa company from an architectural, urbanistic and socio-historical perspective. Plans, maps, photographs and historical documents complete the picture of a city that Le Corbusier described as a “shining phenomenon”. One essay focuses exclusively on Le Corbusier’s plans for Baťa, which were presented in the exhibiton in original drafts.
