Born in 1952 in Prague, Rostislav Švácha is a researcher at the Institute for Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, and teaches the history of architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, and at Palacký University, Olomouc. His publications include The Architecture of New Prague, 1895-1945 (1995), Karel Teige 1900-1951 (co-editor with Eric Dluhosch, 1999), The Pyramid, the Prism & the Arc: Czech Cubist Architecture, 1911-1923 (2000), and Czech Architecture and Its Austerity: Fifty Buildings, 1989-2004 (2004).
