In the preparatory phase of the project "Favourite Sounds of Prague", water sounds and the city emerged as a theme so often and in such different contexts and meanings that we decided to use the old sewage treatment plant in Prague-Bubeneč as a place to collectively present the sounds from the database created during the project.
The old sewage treatment plant in Prague-Bubeneč was completed in 1906 after a concept and under the supervision of William Heerlein Lindley (1853-1917) as the central point of the historical Prague sewer system. The listeners could hear a collage of recordings from the center and the periphery of Prague, which were combined with fragments of historical texts about the person of the famous architect and the construction process.
The installation was open to the public for about three hours. Following the event the Czech radio broadcast the recorded performance.
Venue: Ekotechnické Museum, Prague Bubeneč
